New Puppy?

13 Sep

Do you (or someone you know) have a new puppy?  There’s nothing like a new puppy to add excitement to your life.  They’re so cute and full of energy!  Renee at The Stationery Studio just brought home this sweet puppy, Libby.  She’s a silver Lab and she’s adorable!  So what kind of gift do you give someone who gets a new puppy?  I made sweet Libby some homemade dog biscuits and put them in a reusable container.  I wanted to share the recipe with you … you can make these for any puppy (or any dog) who would love a yummy treat. WOOF!

Dog Biscuit Recipe (modified from Caser Millan’s original recipe)

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (substitute regular flour or oats if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
  • 1/2 c. ground flaxseed
  • 1 tsp. salt (or less)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. Beef or chicken Bouillon granules (can substitute beef or chicken broth/stock)
  • ½ cup hot water

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Dissolve bouillon in hot water
  3. Add remaining ingredients
  4. Knead dough until it forms a ball (approximately 3 minutes)
  5. Roll dough until ½ inch thick
  6. Cut into slices or bone shapes (you can purchase a bone shaped cookie cutter to make shapes with)
  7. Place dough pieces on lightly greased cookie sheet
  8. Cook for 30 minutes

Maybe baking isn’t your thing?  No worries.  Check out the great selection of personalized pet gifts we sell at The Stationery Studio.  We just customized a personalized pet bowl for Charlie, the new puppy on the Today Show.  How cute is he with his new personalized bowl?

Planning an at Home Spa Day

5 Mar

shutterstock_158316041The other day we were featured on the TODAY SHOW on a segment about planning an at home spa day.  It got me thinking what a great idea that is … especially in winter where we are all feeling a little “blah” and could use a pick me up.  I love taking a Sunday afternoon for a little “me” time where I do some DIY beauty treatments at home.  It helps if you do a little planning ahead of time.

When planning your at home spa day, why not start off with a personalized spa wrap or waffle weave robe?  I know they always make me feel like I am in “spa mode” when I have them on. Ours were featured on the TODAY SHOW for the spa segment.

I love to get ideas from Pinterest for my spa treatments.  For some great facial ideas, I love the ideas on this DIY Facial Treatment site.  My favorite pick-me-up facial from the site is a great way to revive your skin:

  • 4 tbsp coffee grounds (not instant)
  • 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

(You can substitute the yogurt with whole milk, and substitute the olive oil with honey or lemon juice.)

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. The result should be a pasty consistency.
  2. Apply to face gently, with a circular motion.
  3. Cover your entire face, excluding the lips and let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse with warm water and pat face dry.
