Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Love Doing This

1 Aug

2

I saw on the Today Show that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt wrote each other love letters while filming in different locations.  It became the topic on the show about how important it is to still write handwritten notes.  Al Roker commented on how important it is and how he taught his kids to write handwritten thank you notes.  How do you feel about handwritten notes? Do you think email or text will ever replace the handwritten letter?

29 Jul

milestonesv1

Life is full of milestone birthdays starting with the very first birthday at one year old.  After the first birthday, there are many milestones along the way that are worth celebrating.  The experts at The Stationery Studio were asked to help celebrate milestone celebrations on the Today Show this morning with gift and party planning ideas.  With ideas for every milestone, TheStationeryStudio.com has put together a list of ten important milestone birthdays worth celebrating:

  1.  1 –   Turning one is a milestone within itself!
  2.  10 – Turning double digits
  3.  13 – First teenage birthday and bar/bat mitzvah for Jewish teens
  4.  16 – The Sweet Sixteen
  5. 18 – Teenagers can drive
  6. 21 – Legal drinking age
  7. 30 – The age where you are considered old
  8. 50 – Considered “over the hill”
  9. 65 –  Official age of retirement
  10. 100 – An honor to make it to 100!

What other milestone birthdays do you think are important to celebrate?

Most Popular Baby Names of 2014 (so far)

9 Jul

Yesterday someone shared a link with me of the most popular baby names of 2014 (so far).  It was interesting to see the trends in names and how movies and TV shows influence our choices.  Being a HUGE fan of “Game of Thrones,” I was personally excited to see Khaleesi making it onto the list.  I am not surprised to see Katniss from “The Hunger Games” or Elsa from the movie “Frozen” on the list as those are both wildly popular.  Here is the list of the Top 10 most popular names so far of 2014 according to Nameberry:

2014nameberryIf you are having a baby or know someone having a baby, did they choose a name from these lists?  Or were you named after a famous celebrity or movie character?  I was named Jennifer from the popular movie “Love Story” starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal.   I know quite a few Jennifer’s my age who were named after this character as well.

Let us know how you feel about picking baby names based on movie and TV characters and what it means to you.
