Moving Mania! Tips for a Stress-Free Move

7 Oct

By Julie L., TSS Staff

There is no place like home.  But, it takes some giant leaps and bounds to make a house a home. In my own experiences, I have dealt with moving from my parents’ house, to my condo, and soon into a single family home. The stress builds quickly with packing, moving, unpacking, organizing, and much more. Here are my tips for the Top 10 Must-Do’s For Your Big Move. These quick and easy steps will help you and your family prepare for the big move.  I’ll reveal my own top product picks that I’m hopeful will help me out on my next big move. The Stationery Studio has it all. So get ready, get set, and get moving with this must-have list of must-do’s:

Before Your Big Move

Make sure you and your family prepare yourselves with all of the necessities. There are things you can put off until later, but these must-dos’s come before your big move.

After you close the deal on your new pad, visit www.thestationerystudio.com and order some new address labels or stampers to get ready to correspond with your new information.

Make your moving lists and check them twice (or three times, four times, and so on) with fun, customized memo pads and post-it notes.  You might even notice the stress melting away as you jot down all of the To-Dos.  Organization and preparation are the keys to a smooth move.

During Your Big Move

While you’re in the middle of packing, relocating, and unpacking, remember place an order for moving cards so that your friends and family know how to reach you.

Fashionable moving cards let everyone know where you will be moving, and serve as the perfect reminder for family and friends to update their address books.

The neighborhood kids are bound to want to meet and play with the new kids on the block, so be prepared to set up some dates with stylish playdate cards to give to your new neighbors.

You, too, will be meeting new friends in the neighborhood while you’re in the middle of your big move. Check out The Stationery Studio’s calling cards to hand out to your newfound neighbors and friends.

After Your Big Move

Aaahhhh! You are all settled in! Now you have some time to relax and enjoy the finer things in life.     Here are some tips to keep in mind to ensure you stay on task.

Add some swag to your house with custom guest towels and napkins. You can personalize the colors, the fonts and the copy to say anything you want!  You will make a great first impression with the neighbors when you serve beverages with your personalized napkins

Don’t forget to plan your housewarming party with stylish invitation cards so everyone can come over and celebrate your big move with you. Open houses are a great way to get to know the new neighbors.

For your party, you can cook and exchange your favorite recipes with your new clique using The Stationery Studio’s classy recipe cards.

Be sure you order new personalized thank you notes to send to everyone who dropped off those awesome housewarming gifts! Order extras for holidays and every day.

After all the hum-drum of moving into your new house is said and done, visit The Stationery Studio’s website, www.thestationerystudio.com, to pick out some everyday casual stationery for yourself and the family, customized with your new address.

Show Your Stars and Stripes with Spirit this Labor Day

19 Aug

What better way to say goodbye to summer than to throw a Labor Day party? Our graphic designer Amy pulled out her stars and stripes to wish her brother farewell as he left for the Naval Academy.  With a make-shift photo booth (see picture above) and our Patriotic Stars Invitation, anyone can entertain with the spirit of the USA!  Add a patriotic personal touch with a set of custom Red, White and Blue Caspari napkins ($48 per 100).

For added decor, Amy took mason jars filled with sand and placed candles in some and flags in others.  This special touch lit up the summer night, as some were hung on trees with wires and others served as centerpieces. For added sparkle, she made the glitter USA letters by hand and displayed them in frames with scrap paper.  These touches would be also be perfect for Fourth of July Parties.  Our new party supplies section make it easy to design your own themes – all with personalization from TheStationeryStudio.com.
