Behind the Scenes – with Invitation Designer Anna Griffin

29 Apr

april-anna-001april-anna-003We’re continuing our Behind the Scenes features today with a focus on Invitations by Anna Griffin.   Her beautifully styled invitations and announcements are designed with luxurious patterns and florals which add elegance to any celebration.

Growing up in a family of artists, Anna Griffin’s inclination toward graphic design is no surprise. Gaining experience working with talents like Vera Wang, combined with her love of antiques, textiles and prints, inspired her company’s success and remarkable growth.

What is unique about Anna Griffin invitations? The intricate die cut designs, foil-stamped details, ribbon and embellishment found on these invitations will make your guests feel like they’ve received a gift when they open them. They are meant to make your occasion that much more special!april-anna-002

When it comes to her creative process, it’s interesting when she explains, “I have always been attracted to texture, layers and bows — whether it be for paper or for decorating. When I graduated from college, my first resume was printed on vellum. At that time vellum and the handmade floral inclusions papers were all the rage. I designed invitations with these elements as if I were designing them for myself.”

Griffin further expands that “the foundation for so many of my designs come from a vast archive of antique engravings that we reinterpret for today. We are so inspired by beautiful old-world art, and love making it new again! Trend and color research are another huge part of our creative process. We’re always on top of what’s happening in fashion and interior design, and those palettes and pattern trends come through on our invitations.”

As a result, her designs are a really amazing fusion of trendy and timeless. They are invitations that are fashion forward, but you could look back at your wedding invitation 20 years from now and feel like it was current.

The special presentation even goes into the shipping of the final package as all orders are wrapped in gorgeous tissue paper and shipped in beautiful gold boxes. Everything you receive from Anna Griffin is sure to be “beautiful in the making.”

Indeed we agree you will love announcing your new little one – or inviting guests to your next special event, whether it’s a  birthday party, Christmas party, Rehearsal Dinner or Anniversary party, with a gorgeous Anna Griffin invitation.

Celebrity Wine Favorites

16 Sep

Scrolling through my twitter feed this morning, I stumbled upon this story about celebrities and their favorite wines.  I didn’t realize Fergie and her Dad made their own wine.  Or that Drew Barrymore had her own line of wines, either!  Have you ever had wines made by celebrities?  I would love to hear if you did and your thoughts on if they’re any good.

While we don’t make wine, we have a great selection of personalized wine glasses that go great with any wine.  Our glassware boutique has a beautiful selection that is loved by the Today Show and other media outlets.  So personalize your own and fill it with your favorite wine and enjoy!

Cheers!
