New Puppy?

13 Sep

Do you (or someone you know) have a new puppy?  There’s nothing like a new puppy to add excitement to your life.  They’re so cute and full of energy!  Renee at The Stationery Studio just brought home this sweet puppy, Libby.  She’s a silver Lab and she’s adorable!  So what kind of gift do you give someone who gets a new puppy?  I made sweet Libby some homemade dog biscuits and put them in a reusable container.  I wanted to share the recipe with you … you can make these for any puppy (or any dog) who would love a yummy treat. WOOF!

Dog Biscuit Recipe (modified from Caser Millan’s original recipe)

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (substitute regular flour or oats if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
  • 1/2 c. ground flaxseed
  • 1 tsp. salt (or less)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. Beef or chicken Bouillon granules (can substitute beef or chicken broth/stock)
  • ½ cup hot water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Dissolve bouillon in hot water
  3. Add remaining ingredients
  4. Knead dough until it forms a ball (approximately 3 minutes)
  5. Roll dough until ½ inch thick
  6. Cut into slices or bone shapes (you can purchase a bone shaped cookie cutter to make shapes with)
  7. Place dough pieces on lightly greased cookie sheet
  8. Cook for 30 minutes

Maybe baking isn’t your thing?  No worries.  Check out the great selection of personalized pet gifts we sell at The Stationery Studio.  We just customized a personalized pet bowl for Charlie, the new puppy on the Today Show.  How cute is he with his new personalized bowl?
