Thank You, Guy Trebay

This week I came across a story in the New York Times called “The Found Art of Thank-You Notes” by Guy Trebay.  It was such a great article that I shared it through twitter and with some of my friends. Mr. Trebay really captured the way I personally feel about handwritten thank you notes.  In a world full of emails and texts, it is a lot easier to send a quick “thank you” message, but when you take a moment to hand write a thank you note, it truly stands out.

I was so happy to hear that the art of writing thank you notes is making a comeback.  Maybe in this digital age people are yearning for something that feels more authentic.  Handwriting truly expresses your personality where an emoticon, while fun and whimsical, can’t truly replace the emotions evoked by receiving a handwritten note.

Thank you, Mr. Trebay, for your timely and well written article.  Maybe I should write a handwritten thank you note?

xoxo
