These are special little works of art and we hope you will enjoy and appreciate the skilled artisan designs as much as we do.
These are truly lovely designs perfect for men, women and young adults. Both sophisticated and stylish, these cards are clearly unique and produced with the finest care. The timeless collection features engraved designs, like little charms, positioned carefully on textured hand-made paper. In their printing shop, Jan Petr Obr creates stunning engraving dies. The handmade stationery is designed and produced in classic European tradition with process methods dating back to the 16th century. The collection draws from an extensive library of historic engravings, antique maps, botanicals and art nouveau designs.
The mouldmade paper is supplied by Bohemia Papers, a small distinguished mill located just outside of Prague using the same paper-making technique that has been virtually unchanged for over 300 years. The mill is located in a 16th Century manor house. From start to finish each sheet passes through the hands of the papermaker 10 times. Originating from the technique of paper making by hand, mould made paper is often referred to as handmade but there are distinct differences. The mould is not held by hand but instead is replaced by a slowly rotating cylinder mould which picks up the paper stock from a vat. Mouldmade paper therefore ideally combines the uniformity of machine papers with the individual character of handmade papers.
The stationery has a characteristic natural edge and felted surface. Every box of stationery gives a personal nod to the skilled artist that impressively engraved or hand-printed the stationery. Sets of 100 or more are personalized using a letterpress imprint, which is a lovely addition at no extra charge. For those who appreciate the art of letter writing and quality old world stationery with a modern twist, this collection is something you will truly admire and enjoy.
